Join us for the first Animal Enrichment Volunteer Workshop creating snuffle mats!
We want your help creating enrichment items that encourage our animals to engage in natural behaviors through exploration, foraging, problem-solving, and mental stimulation, ultimately enhancing their overall well-being. Snuffle mats mimic the tall grasses found in nature and will be used for many of our smaller animals, including skunks, rabbits, raccoons, porcupines, groundhogs, box turtles, and even snakes.
During the workshop, our Animal Enrichment Lead will share an educational program on the important role enrichment plays in the physical and mental well-being of the animals in our care. And who knows...we may even have a surprise animal visitor stop by to help make the experience even more memorable!
This is the first in a series of Animal Enrichment Workshops that we plan to offer throughout the year. Each workshop will feature a different enrichment project, giving volunteers the opportunity to learn more about animal care while creating items that directly benefit the animals at Wildlife Prairie Park.
