Adventure Trek
Climb aboard the Adventure Trek hayrack and get a behind the scenes tour and narration of Wildlife Prairie Park and its history from an animal care specialist. Besides seeing areas of the Park many don’t see, you will take a tour through the bison and elk pasture and with a chance to get an up close look at these magnificent animals, including meeting our bison ambassador Nakoma!
The Adventure Trek is now an adventure for ALL!
Thanks to generous donors, we now have a wheelchair lift and retrofitted a hayrack with wheelchair accessibility, expanding adventures at the Park to all guests of all abilities.
How to ride the Wheelchair Accessible Adventure Trek
Tickets for the wheelchair accessible allocation on the Adventure Trek must be purchased at the Park the day of at the Ticket Gate or Gift Shop. It is a first come, first serve basis.
Guests should arrive at the Park 30 - 45 minutes ahead of the Adventure Trek departure time to check for availability and purchase a ticket.
Once on the Trek, you will remain on the Trek until it returns to the Visitor Center. You will be able to see our Ambassador Bison Nakoma from the hayrack.
Only one wheelchair can be accommodated per Adventure Trek.
Electric Wheelchairs (including Park rentals) will not be able to be utilized. However, the Park's regular wheelchair can be used for the Trek as long as it's available and not being used by another guest. Please notify Park staff when purchasing a ticket if you will need the Park's wheelchair for the Trek.
Ticket Prices
Because seats fill up quickly, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance. Children ages 2 & under may sit on a parent’s lap.

Inclement Weather Policy
If the Park cancels the Trek due to extreme inclement weather, a refund will be issued within 30 days. The decision to cancel will be made one hour prior to departure by the manager on duty.
Animal Behavior
Please remember these are wild animals. Some animal behaviors may determine a need to adjust the route of the trek. Your guide will make you aware if an adjustment needs to be made for safety reasons.
We will make every effort to see the herd in the pasture, however, it is not always possible.
