Human Trafficking Prevention Training

for Lodging Professionals

Lodging professionals are invited to attend a specialized Human Trafficking Awareness Training on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 8:00–9:30 a.m. in the Garden Room of Prairie Hall. This vital training, conducted by experts from the Center for Prevention of Abuse, fulfills the Illinois state requirement mandating human trafficking training for all lodging establishments. According to the Lodging Services Human Trafficking Recognition Training Act, employees must complete this training within six months of beginning employment and every two years thereafter. The training will be 45 minutes in duration and cover topics such as the definition of human trafficking, identification of at-risk individuals, distinctions between labor and sex trafficking as it relates to lodging establishments, and protocols for reporting observed human trafficking to the appropriate authorities.

This session is open to lodging businesses from Peoria and surrounding areas, designed to be both informative and convenient—offering your team a chance to meet state requirements while enjoying the natural beauty and calm of Wildlife Prairie Park. Start your morning with fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, and juice, while connecting with fellow industry professionals. Whether you choose to attend in person or join virtually, this is a unique opportunity to engage in impactful learning, network with others, and explore ways your business can be part of the solution. We’re taking the “fuss” out of planning your training—just register by Monday, April 21st, and we’ll take care of the rest. Give your team a meaningful start to the day, with a 9:15 a.m. Prairie Zephyr Train Ride and time afterward to walk the park trails or relax in the scenic surroundings. Let’s make a difference together!
