DESCRIPTION:Experience the healing benefits of nature and join Kim and Rene
 e from SunnyMoon Rising for a short hike to a wooded area and to find a tr
 ee of your choice to connect with. You will then be guided through an imme
 rsive experience focusing on the sights\, sounds\, smells\, feels\, and ta
 stes around you. This Japanese technique of mindful connection to nature i
 s known as shinrin-yoku or forest bathing. Kim and Renee have added their 
 own unique touch to the forest bathing experience by embedding what they c
 all\, “Tree Meditation”. This easy and slow hike with frequents stops 
 through nature spaces is not meant to be cardio exercise\, but rather a mi
 ndful experience.\n\nApril 12: Beauty in Spring (Spring Ephemerals)  \nUsi
 ng knowledge gained as Master Naturalists through the Illinois Extension a
 nd their passion for all things Mother Earth\, the education meditation pa
 rt of this event will include guided imagery about spring ephemerals\, a u
 nique and rare plant that emerges this time of year. The rewarding practic
 e of composting at home will be explored as well. Not only will you leave 
 feeling peaceful\, but with more knowledge about these unique spring plant
 s and how composting connects you further to nature. Registered attendees 
 will gather “gifts from nature” and receive supplies to assemble their
  own terrarium at home.\nGrounding in nature following a sound bath helps 
 lengthen the benefits of that therapy so be sure to sign up for the 1 p.m.
  Sound Bath too!\n\nLocation: Meet at the Visitor Center\n* FREE for membe
 rs\, and FREE for non-members with paid admittance.\n* Children under 18 m
 ust be accompanied by an adult.\n* Sessions may cancel if it is actively s
 torming\, or travel to the park is dangerous. Those who sign up in advance
  will be notified by e-mail of cancellations or meeting location changes.\
 n* Registration required. Sign Up\n\nTips from the Pros: Weather permittin
 g\, you will be outside 30 minutes or longer\, so warm gear is suggested f
 or your comfort (coat\, hat or ear covering\, gloves\, warm boots\, hand/f
 oot warmers\, blanket). We have some rugs available for sitting but attend
 ees may bring a chair\, blanket and/or yoga mat for additional comfort. An
  indoor space will be used should the weather become bad. If you aren't us
 ed to being outside in nature during the winter\, you will fall in love wi
 th it! Spots are limited so reserve yours early. A water bottle is also su
 ggested.\n
