DESCRIPTION:Learn about a local conservation project taking place on the Il
 linois River Refuge to provide a breeding wetland for the state-threatened
  Illinois Chorus Frog! \nThe wetland was specifically constructed as breed
 ing habitat for the state threatened Illinois Chorus Frog but also would b
 e a high-quality habitat for other wildlife. After the first year\, the fr
 og had not yet been found at the site\, instead Plains Hognose Snake\, Eas
 tern Box Turtle\, and state threatened Regal Fritillary Butterfly were spo
 tted. Join us to learn how the project has grown and discover what is bein
 g done locally to help an Illinois-threatened species!\nGuest Speaker: Ste
 phanie Bishir\, Wildlife Biologist\nStephanie Bishir is a Wildlife Biologi
 st who studies wood frog movements and habitat use. She continues to have 
 a keen interest in amphibian conservation\, and is working to improve amph
 ibian habitat and increase the presence of the state-threatened Illinois C
 horus frog on the Refuge. She also works on a variety of other projects an
 d surveys throughout the year\, including waterfowl and shorebird migratio
 n counts\, invasive plant species control\, tree plantings\, and prescribe
