The Animal Trails

Wildlife Prairie Park is home to only animals who are native to the Midwest region. Many of the animals at the Park were rescued and could not be released back into the wild. We have a 1.5 trail that will take you all through the woods to see these creatures in their natural environment. The enclosures at Wildlife Prairie Park are made to be as close to the natural surrounds as possible. Take a walk through the Merrill Woods today to discover native animals in the Midwest. Who knows, you just might spot one in your own backyard!

Our animals include: Bison, Elk, Cougars, Black Bears, Fox, Bobcats, Crane, Eagles, Otters, Owls, Snakes, Turtles, domesticated farm animals, and much more!

Winter 2016 through March 2017.
The Bison and Elk will not be visible from Hespell Deck as they will be placed in the winter pasture in order to give the front pasture a break to regrow. We are able to give them their annual veterinary examine more easily when they are in the winter pasture.
Pioneer petting farm animals will be off display until it warms up in spring!
We apologize for any inconvenience.
